Lipson Community College Workshop

  A hip hop dance troupe who featured on ITV's ‘Britain's Got Talent’ have been working with the police to inspire youngsters in Plymouth with a fun dance workshop.

Cornish dance group Flava ran the 'b Inspired' workshop at Lipson Community College to inspire young people to build confidence through dance techniques.

 On Thursday 18th of November, the dance group Flava officially launched their next series of dance workshops aimed at year 9 in secondary schools across the Borough. This was launched at The Rex in Stratford showcasing to schools and their pupils. 

Anti-Bullying Week

100_0994.JPG This week is Anti-Bullying Week, and schools across the country are taking part in numerous activities to prevent bullying and encourage pupils who are being bullied to speak out. 

Flava who are perhaps best known for reaching the semi-finals of ITV's 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2008 achieved national recognition and capitalized on this hard earned opportunity to do what they love, which is, to dance and perform.

YOUNGSTERS STEP TO THE BEAT

Flava, a Hip Hop dance troupe who reached the semi-finals of ITV’s Britain's Got Talent last year, are working with police to run an exciting dance workshop to inspire youngsters in Falmouth and Penryn.

The Cornish dance group, who recently received a Philip Lawrence honorary award for their outstanding contribution to the community, is working with young people to build confidence through dance.

The ‘B Inspired’ workshop took place at The Dracaena Centre, Falmouth on Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May.

Wow we have fantastic news!!!!

Through Britains got talent exposure as you know Flava have had amazing support from the police in all areas in the UK due to the positive image they have as good role models within the current goodie Hoodie culture.

 We had a lovely present in the post at Christmas from the Company Sketchers. The company have recognised all the work that Flava have been doing with the Countries youth, and sent us all some new shoes to wear on our tour!
 
We love our new shoes and find it adorable that many of our dancers in the Fiona Richardson, Big Dance Company have now travelled to Plymouth to find the same shoes to wear at classes.
Thank you Sketchers for our lovely shoes, the are having the time of their lives with us!!!!!!
